I tried Epila but its so slow because it only removes one hair at a time and it takes forever to do one area, say an underarm would take an hour or more and its hard to see and do it yourself.

Honestly, the best way to remove hair for good is to get it done professionally. Most at home kits do one hair at a time as you said, and they don’t always work. You can also badly burn yourself if you don’t do it right. I’d suggest waxing if you don’t want the hefty price tag.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
